This windblown forest is old and slow growing. When these pines die they are impregnated with resin and remain standing for hundreds of years. Altitude above 400 meters, south of Trondheim.

Windblown trees in the same area as the picture above. This "forest" isn't dying, it just grows slowly in a harsh environment.
