A millennium monument, a "sundial" (artist: Rolf Øidvin 1950–), close to the present church and the estimated 700 years old stave church on Kvernes on the east side of Averøya, the island south of Kristiansund. Four kilometers distant the Gjemnessundet suspension bridge, a part of the Kristiansund mainland connection.
